When to change affiliates?

When is the best time to change affiliates so that it doesn't mess up the league history, after the season or at the beginning of the following year (1/1/20XX)?

I don't think that the players change to the new affiliate when you change the teams association. I would think that the players would need to be transferred manually for this to work. Are you trying to change minor league affiliates to another major league team?

There is an easier way. If you just switch affiliations then players do transfer systems. Lets take this year. The Pirates are moving to the FSL and the Red's affiliate is moving to the Carolina league. If I go to the Sarasota Reds (FSL A ball) and switch the affiliation to Pirates all the Reds players on the team are now in the Pirates org.

The easier solution, easier than transferring players, is to edit league structure. In the previous example, you move the Reds FSL team to the Carolina league. You move the Pirates' Carolina team to the FSL and change names. That way the affiliation of players never changes just the league of the team.
