What did I do wrong....

Why when I ran my league starting in 1910 did Babe Ruth come in as a pitcher and never play a position? He retired from baseball in 1918 and never once play the position? Is it because he had a torn rotator cuff and was out for his career in 1918 and thus never played a position?

If you used the lahman database the Babe only comes in as a pitcher. I believe if you use the Arod database the Babe comes in as both a pitcher and a hitter. Im 100% on this.

Also, torn rotator cuffs that are career ending injuries are kind of hard to continue pitching through.

I did use Lahman, so he would have never played RF with this database? Maybe I should start this later around 1919 when he started playing the field.

In OOTP2007 the game will automatically convert him to an OF'er at the same time he did irl, I believe it was 1919 or 1920. This works with Lahman now, and not only customized DB's, as long as you have the game set to automatically reclalc player ratings based on real life stats after each year.

In your case he suffered a CEI prior to that happening.
