Fictional Historical League?

This has probably already been answered numerous times but I wanted to know if there is a way to set up a sort of fictional historical league.

What I want to do is create a new league with 24 teams, 2 leagues, 3 divisions in each league and 4 teams in each division. I do not want the team names to be like the Yankees, Red Sox, etc. I want to make up the cities and team names.

I want a completely erased history. The only thing is that I want to use the roster from the 2006 season, with their career stats blank. Then I will hold an inaugural draft. Is this in any way possible?

I'd appreciate any help.

I worded this really stupidly. Basically all I want to do is have a fake league with the players from 2006 all put into an inaugural draft for this fake 24 team league.

I've never done a league like you're talking about, but I once stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

I believe everything is possible, but you'll have to start with a historic import of the 2006 season so that you can get all of those real players into the game.

Make sure to release all of these players for an inaugural draft so you aren't deleting them when you delete the teams and restructure the division and team names.

Then you can go to the league structure and delete or add teams however you want. There's also an Action button that allows you to randomize the names of all the teams in exactly the same structure of MLB 2006. If you want different divisions and structure, I believe you can edit them.

Thanks, the only problem is that it won't let me restructure the league because it's from a historical import.

I thought you could make any changes in the off-season or pre-season. OK, this next step could be dead wrong and louse everything up, but you may have to tinker to figure it out since I don't know for sure.

But look how you can create the historic import. Go to league strategy and see how you can delete the league. This releases all of the real players to free agency.

Can't you then create your league structure and names exactly as you want and then bring the real players in from the free agent list?

I'm sorry I don't have more experience with this tinkering like you want to do.

What Rasnell says is possible. I did the same thing, but in 1901. Pull in the players from Lahman, then release them to a draft. You can go into the league editing pages, and do whatever you want. For example, I replaced all 16 teams with different teams (city and name), and structured the game with two divisions in each league (unlike real-life-1901, which had no divisions).
