Good find
I always found it odd that Cincinnati, one of the most conservative cities on the planet, was the team that started the alcohol sales and Sunday baseball (and had Jerry Springer as a Mayor)

Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you. |

Nice article, but the St. Louis entries of the National Association in 1875 caused a similar stir by scheduling Sunday games. At the time, most chalked it up to those heathens in the Wild West.

![]() Related to this Chris Von Der Ahe (St Louis owner) is probably one of the more fascinating Baseball figures of the 19th Century, might have to add that book to my collection.

Very funny. Never thought of that before. (And first to put in stadium lights for night games.)

The only reason Jerry still isn't Mayor is because he made the mistake of writing the personal check to the hooker (that would been OK except he did it across the river in Ky). We woulda forgiven him if he had kept it at home.

That's just the public, not-Cincinnati perception, Vegas ain't got nuttin on Cincy, what happens here (such as "gay" baseball stars as one example).
