154 game schedules were generally played in 151-152 days, or in some cases were played in just 144-145 days. 168 game seasons were played in either 167 or 159 days. Needless to say, the minor league schedules were peppered with many scheduled doubleheaders.

The majors, by contrast, took 167-168 days to play a 154 game schedule from the 1930s onwards, and generally took about 175 days before then.

Thanks for the quick history lesson. Glad I have this set up correctly, except maybe the number of games. That, however, is my "gamey" approach at keeping financials down right now.

I am running into a bug right now, and it is really making me mad. If I create a new league, and don't put any players on the teams, the AI is not smart enough to pick up players (even though there are about 320 players in the Free agent pool, of all skill levels). The odd thing is, if I add a team to an existing league, the AI fills the team up just fine. Anybody else run into this? If I can't fix this, there will be WAY to many players in my universe in 10 years (with minor leagues folding/being created), and I don't think the experience will be very enjoyable...

Make sure your new league is allowed to sign free agents from other leagues. The available players might be considered part of another league or something.
