1997 Historical League

I wanted to start a league right before 1998 expansion and then just take over the D-Backs when they came. I used Lahman's database and imported the league. I created the minors myself and thought I would be able to just have them the way they are right now and then once expansion came I could add minor league teams. Anyway, after all my hard work typing in all the correct team names and making sure the league structure was correct and everything for all minor leagues (AAA all the way down to R and SS) I pressed start game and got a message that said this 'An uneven number of teams has been found in a sub-league. Only an even number fo teams is allowed within a sub-league!

What do I do?

Is there a template with historical rosters for that season with all correct minors that I can download or something?

I do not know what to do!

there's a simple workaround: during initial league creation (in your template), fix the sub-league in question so that it has an even amount of teams, either by moving it to another division w/in that sub-league, or, if its a single division sub-league, by deleting a team. start your game, then go into game setup/league setup/edit league structure and either move the team back to its correct division or simply add a team if you had to delete one. once that is done, generate a new schedule so the game takes into account the new league structure; this function is located in the same screen. after that you should be good to go

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Also, when you do an expansion draft are minor league teams automatcally added for each expansion team or is this done manually?

Basically, I want to be able to create a historical league and then have my own minor leagues and teams once the D-Backs and D-Rays come in.

When I expanded in my fictional league, the game automatically added the farm teams for the expansion teams, so imagine you should have no worries.
