Switching from 1900 to 1901

In earlier versions of OOTP, you could create a new league, copy a few files from an pre-1901 league, and be done (this was also the way to do a league expansion or add a second league). With 2007 it seems there are some limitations when running a 19th century league that weren't there before, particularly with the 3 year recalc.. My question, has anyone been able to find a reliable way to move from 1900 to 1901 in order to use the features that are typically available when using OOTP as intended (post 1900)?
