A really cool thing happened in my Historical Thread

Post things here that happened in your Historical league that made you go 'wow', that is cool.

I just had Denny McLain go 28-12 with a 2.35 ERA in 1969. Of course we all know how he won 31 games in 1968 in real life.

Hank Aaron just retired and had some very Aaronish stats.

28 wins! What pitcher endurance setting do you have and what is the rotation size for the league?

Btw, McLain is always one of those studs I deeply consider giving away a ton of young and old talent for... Haven't done it yet, though.

Right now,I have a young Richie Allen putting together a monsterous first season in the Majors. Here are his stats as of June 19,1964.The one bad thing is that he can't be voted rookie of the year because he played in 10 games in 1963

Thank You Very Much?

Orioles brought up a pitcher on Friday, he pitched a PERFECT GAME on Sunday, back in the minors on Monday when a player came off the disabled list.

As long as he didnt surpass the limit of ABs he could still be eligible for Rookie of the Year. I cant remember to amount of AB or IP that make him no longer a rookie but I believe he will still be eligible.

I ran a simulation from 1901-1959 and then checked how closely the league ERA matched the real-life historical league ERA. I analyzed this in beta testing and found basically the same results - we're right on target.

First I looked at the ERA by decade, 1900-1909, 1910-1919, etc and I found that the average for any decade was never off by more than a tenth of a run.

The real historical average from 1900-1959 for ERA was 3.68 and in my simulation it was 3.70. You can't get any better than that!

This accuracy is due to the fact that we now have SB Attempts, SB%, Double Plays, FLD% and other things now cranking out to proper historical ratios each season.

Following up on the league ERA post, from 1960-1999 the historical average league ERA was 3.84 and in my simulation it was 3.91 during that same 40-year span.
