Settings for historical accuracy

What are the settings for the most accurate recreation of a players career and then what are the settings for the most randomness in a player's development? (base ratings on remaining seasons, recalc player ratings, double weight of current year, ...)

Thanks in advance.

The challenge is what one player might consider accurate another might not and vice versus. Your best bet is to try a few and see what fits for your particular play style.

First test I'd suggest is for Player Development and see how you feel about it.

Turn PD on and set it to 100. Recalc at 3yrs. Develop a league, archive it, and then run it at that setting. Then reinstall that league to the original year, turn PD OFF and sim a season. Look at a bunch of famous players each sim and see what you think.

That will give you some idea of PD.

Then if you want PD ON, you need to start messing with the value. Higher than 100 means more change, less than 100 brings it closer to historic (supposedly) performance. Take it down to 1 and see what you think.

Look at retirement ages (if you have RAH - Retire According to History - turned off). With RAH off, players tend to play way longer from what I've seen. Too long, IMO, but perhaps that has changed. I play with RAH off.
So if you have both PD and RAH off, you can see some sickening, IMO, HR totals for careers - like in 800's.
