Historical Quickstart!
I'm currently thinking of creating another historical quickstart, but I'm wondering what year most of you guys want to play in? So, give me some feedback!

No offence. This is only the next version advice. But i think that quickstarts should be eliminated in the next version of the OOTP and replaced with single database.
I play OOTP more than 5 years and for every new version of the game modders create historical leagues, teams, players, adding stadium info, photos etc. etc. Most of this mod is very good and fun to play. But year after year this mods become old and I need to find another mods for new version or can't find a year that I want to start. And I bet, Dr. P.R. Park III, you can create a quality quickstars. But that I do if I want to start my league not in 1900 or 1905 but in 1904? Where I can get this quickstart? And after release of the OOTP10 your quickstarts became a simle waste of time. I want that all big efforts of our modders will guided in the right direction. I think that Marcus could change it. Marcus must give us database structure and this great community can fill this database full (or HUGE) of the real players, coaches, managers, umpires, stats,L/R splits, RATINGS, names, BIOs, minor leagues, stadiums... And only add new entries to this database after each baseball season. And instead of creating separate version of historical leagues we all together can create a one global historical quickstart database. And with this database become possible to quickstart whatever baseball season you like with real teams, rosters, minors, stadiums, personal and even photos. This is my dream and #1 next version priority. |

Ma bad. Sorry didn't find word fictional in the topic name. By "FICTIONAL" historical quickstarts you mean fictional players and teams? But why this replay called historical?

People don't create "historical" quickstarts to replay history with real players....quickstarts are usually created for the sole purpose of mixing non-fiction (leagues and teams) with fiction (players/rules concerning the leagues). That would be my limited understanding of a historical quickstart. |

Alright, thanks for the feedback. This is perfect, because I have been planning a quickstart for 1947 for a few months now, very glad to see people would also like to see something similar. Would it be possible to close the poll? Thanks!

Totally agree. Up to the mid-seventies - I guess they really figured out FA from a business standpoint and then - *poof!*
Anyhow, a post-war league could be quite cool. As far as closing the poll, you can usually do this when you start a poll (set a closing date). I am not sure if mods can close a poll or not. Maybe lock the thread? |
