Player Switched From Pitcher To Batter

I had a player Rene Monteagudo who started in my league as a pitcher, then all of a sudden 5 years in switchs to becoming a batter. Checked this guy out at Wikipedia and indeed he switched to batter after arm problems. Never have seen this before and I've had a lot of Historical Leagues. As a sidenote he was blacklisted from the majors in 1946 for playing in the Mexican League..

Very cool indeed. When I notice them, I also look them up on Wikipedia or Baseball Reference.com.

Definitely my favorite thing about OOTP is learning about baseball history!

Very interesting. Sounds like a forerunner of Adam Loewen.

Jah will see it at least two more times before 1925.

Smokey Joe Wood had to do that because of arm injuries and some guy named Babe Ruth did that.

I'm in 1907 and Smokey Joe should be showing up soon...will be getting to the Babe down the road eventually!

As a baseball fan who grew up in the 1970s, I never knew much about the Dead Ball Era, so that's where OOTP really shines for me - it's a great game and a baseball history lesson at the same time!
