Setting up second season?

I have completed my first historical season, 1948, with the NY Yankees, I played all Yankee games, auto played the rest and throughly enjoyed it. My question is what do I do to start the 1949 season? Do I have to import the stats to get the correct rosters for 1949? Or do I just keep playing and let the program automatically import them?

OOTP is far better than DMB and I wish to continue adding to the first season. By the way I have read and used the advice from Rasnell's post "Getting Ready to Make History" which I found very informative and helpful.

Thanks,

John

Yes

Though I have to ask - do you want the game to continue being very close to reality or do you want an alternative history type of game?

Thanks for the quick replies!!!

Yes I want the game to be close to reality. I have no trading but how do I handle real life trades? Also do I need some sort of draft or do the players automatically go to their proper teams?

Thanks again......

Okay, go to the Game dropdown menu in the top left, then Game Setup, then League Setup, then Options. Make sure 'Recalc player ratings based on real stats after each year' is turned on with a check mark next to it. Then decide if you want recalc every season, 3 years, or 5 years. Every year will give you results very close to reality with each other option giving you more varying results.

Under Rules, make sure the Amateur Draft is disabled (can only be changed in the offseason) and that players are set to go to their proper teams.

For real life trades, you're SOL. You'd have to be in Commish mode and run them all yourself if you want them done. Same with any potential future free agents.

Thanks again Kelric,

I think I have all the settings already 'set' to your suggestions, but I'll double check.
I also run in the Commish mode so no problem there, just have to manually make the trades.
