My Historic League Results - Starting in 1994

I started my historic league in 1994 and am going to play from there. I'd always been curious to see how the '94 season would have panned out without the strike, which is why I chose the '94 season to play. So without further ado, here's the results of a very exciting first season.

The Astros and the Red Sox shared the top record in baseball at 100-62. The White Sox took the A.L. Central while the Mariners took the A.L. West. The Indians took the A.L. Wild Card edging out the Blue Jays by one game.

In the Senior Circuit, it was the Montreal Expos taking the N.L. East with a 98-64 record, 4 games better than the Wild Card winning Phillies. The Dodgers won the N.L. West with a 99-93 record.

The Red Sox beat the Indians 3 games to 2 in the ALDS, while the White Sox edged the Mariners 3 games to 2 as well.

In the NLDS, it was the Expos over the Dodgers 3 games to 1, while the Astros swept the Phillies 3-0.

Both LCS series went to 7 games with the Red Sox and the Expos coming out on top.

In the 1994 World Series, the Expos won it 4 games to 1. John Wettland picked up 4 saves and did not allow a hit.

Tony Gwynn won the N.L. Batting title with a .385 average. He was hitting .407 on August 30th, but unfortunately couldn't keep up pace.

Matt Williams, who I believe IRL was on pace to break the 60 HR mark in '94 suffered a season ending injury in June and finished with only 16 HR.

Tom Candiotti finished with a 20-7 mark for the Dodgers and won the N.L. Cy Young Award, while Randy Johnson finished with a 18-12 record for the Mariners with a 3.12 ERA and a whopping 346 strikeouts to pick up the A.L. Cy Young Award.

Barry Bonds with a .354 BA, slugged 46 HR and drove in 127 to take the N.L. MVP award while Ken Griffey took home the A.L. MVP with a league leading 53 HR.

I am now going to play 1995. I'm anticipating a very good Yankees team with a starting staff of Clemens, Pettitte, Cone, Key and Melido Perez. Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera are waiting in the wings in AAA and Barry Bonds is now partolling LF in the House that Ruth built!

I have financials turned off. I'm still learning the game so I don't really want to bother with the financials just yet.

I control all teams, make all the roster moves, lineups, etc. Injuries/suspensions are on. Minor leagues are active, I have it so fictional players won't make it to the majors. Basically what I did after the '94 season was tried to make the rosters for '95 as close to real as possible, but I have deviated somewhat, especially with the Yankees.

How about the Expos winning the '94 W.S. ??? They didn't lose all their big name players. Larry Walker, Pedro, Wettland, etc. all wound up staying. However..Juan Gonzalez is now on the Rockies and as of May 21, 1995 -- he has 25 home runs. So 62 HR is very attainable for him.
