Would any of the editions from OOTP6 thru 8 be capable of uploading from the latest 2008 Lahman?
I wish this would be fixed in a patch for OOTP9, as our league doesn't want to have to wait until mid-year next year (a.k.a. probable OOTP10 release) to start our season. The workaround works, but I want to be able to upload the complete and accurate pre-2009 histories for players. |

Playing historically leagues ....
I wonder if this enw Lahmanns DB actually does anything more than show 2008 stats for players playing when one reaches a player to include in the game that did play 2008. If you got a player already playing in your history league before the new DB he will NEVER show 2008 stats in Real-Life, but the question on how his rating will turn out when you reach 2007 or 2008. Will the perhaps very improved 2008 year for catcher Navaro in Tampa Bay really become a reality in OOTP or will he base his future 2007 and onwards on 2007 stats and then if you have Player Development turn on will take him in whatever direction ? Questions waiting to be answered. I´m still in mid 1990´s so I will only see players that started their career (actually was picked from the DB) after that year popping up WITH 2008 stats. Jaime Moyer will have his last realtime stats in 2007. PS The date formula for "entering" the majors are different in Lahmanns 2008 DB Perhaps it needs to be fixed or will OOTP handle this correct. I will test shortly, but someone already know please sound off Last edited by clamel; 12-31-2008 at 06:14 AM. |

Understandably, I know that the development team doesn't want to make any promises.
But what is the rough expectation for OOTP10's release? Preseason? Midseason? Late season? I feel like those of us who want to build a league strictly on ratings from the new Lahman are going to be left in the cold. But, for homebrewing a roster strictly for a 2008 replay league....would it work for me to do this? 1) Edit out all stat lines in the new Lahman 5.6 save for 2006-2008. (so that 3-year fielding stats are usable). 2) Change the 2006-2008 dates to 2005-2007 so the game can read them correctly. 3) Load into game to generate ratings. 4) Export the rosters and ratings from the game. 5) Edit the 2005-2007 dates back to 2006-2008 in the .csv's. Paste in the rest of the backlog of historical/career stats. 6) Import the rosters from these .csv's back into OOTP. Questions: Will the new Lahman fielding format in 5.6 screw the fielding ratings up? Would reimporting the rosters under the revised 2006-2008 dates alter the ratings all over again (i.e. the game will not recognize any of the 2008 stats influence)?
