Possible to have recalc on without losing learned position ratings?

So I'm playing a solo historical league. I have recalc on based on real stats. I need recalc because I want as many of the real players that get imported to play like they really did. But, I don't want them to lose position ratings at positions I train them on after each season. For example, if I train a 1st baseman to play 3rd base, I want him to still have a 3rd base rating the next season. Is this possible, or does recalc wipe out everything accomplished in the game?

No, that's something which bugged me right from the beginning. I had a player who played a different position for the entire season due to an injury, and this experience was completely lost at the start of the next season. It would be great if there was an option to use stats from the game as part of the recalc process, but I guess no one has considered that.
