Please Help -- All-Time Teams League??

I'm considering purchasing OOTP, but I would like to create a league that includes all-time teams -- the 75 Reds, 27 Yanks, 80 Phils, etc...

Specifically, I'd want to set up a league, place all of these teams into various divisions, and have the game set up a schedule for me, so that if I wanted to play all of the 27 Yanks' games I could, and then view the results of all of other teams in the league?

Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

No problem, you can import any given team for any given year. You just need to decide which teams you want. You can have 5 Yankee teams if you want. You can decide the number of teams, divisions, leagues, etc. and place the teams wherever you would like them. The game will then build a schedule based on how many games you want to play and when you want the season to end.

It will also create playoffs based on how many levels you want.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the reply! Is that simple to just select the teams from the various years? Is it menu- or list-box-driven to get this done? Or is there something special I'd need to do to get the data from the years I want into the application?

Also, when I tried to do this with Baseball Mogul, I ran into a problem with having the same player on multiple teams (i.e., Lenny Dykstra on the '86 Mets and the '93 Phils)...will I potentially run into the same issue here?

You can certainly have the same player on multiple teams, You'd just have to delete him from the team you don't want him on.

Thanks again for the reply, but I want to point out that do want Lenny Dykstra to be on both teams...I want the 93 Phils and the 86 Mets to both be in the league...

Would that be a problem that the game's database could not reconcile?

Not a bit. The Lennys will play on the same field without a single ruffle in the space-time continuum.

Hi, where specifically on the OOTP menu do you import the teams?

I'm also curious. This sounds like a lot of fun.

I think it is in the following menu:

Game...Game setup...League setup...edit league structure
