spritze db question

question:
i have decided to give athe sprtize db 2008 a try for my 60's historical league. the readme says this:

These files are meant to replace the batting, fielding, pitching, fielding of and master CSV Lahman files. For all the rest of the necessary files please use the standard Lahman ones.

what are the rest of the necessary files i need to use it?

also will ballparks change automatically like LA going from coliseum to dodger stadium?

is this a good db to use for historical?

thanks much

Just copy those files into the stas folder. It will overwrite the others, which you should backup ahead of time. The remainder that are in there will be all you'll need.

Changes will occur according to history as long as you have the option turned on in game setup.

with the advent of the new pitching system - do the modded databases need to be updated? or do they transfer over ok? I was actually assuming I couldn't use the Spritze database with ootp10 yet.

Plus, I see that negro league players such as Josh Gibson and Pop Lloyd are within the Master spreadsheet that comes with the game. But they don't have debut dates. If I simply enter in debut dates for all of those players, will they be part of my normal Master database? That would be sweet.

Everyones old modded db's will still work with OOTPx if they worked with OOTP9.

All the batting and pitching data has been removed for the negro and japanese league players. Use the Garlon/Sritze db or the Spritze db to include those players in your league.

but the OOTPX & OOTP9 Master are different, in that OOTPX has the added pitch rating columns. So I the mods will work, but will be given random pitch ratings since they don't include those columns?

Yeah the databases will need to be updated as the master file holds pitch information and fielding data now and the batting file has what I believe as games started added to it to help with historical accuracy.

I am in the process of updating the Gambo DB for this years version as a result, since it will not work at it's best with the OOTPx

Sad,
I thought that maybe a new file with all pitcher stuffs just was added and not included in standard Lahmanns files.

This will ruin all modding I have done with adding some nice minor leaguers.

Havenīt bought OOTP10 yet, since Iīm waiting just to see how it affect an already ongoing dynasty.
As I understand I have to cut and paste all info from X masterfile to my own then.

Gambo has a slight incorrectancy in his post and Clamels mods are not facing ruination.

You do not need the new extra columns in the master.csv.

They are only used by the included OOTP db if certain choices are made during game setup and so even if you have included them on an external db they will be either ignored or cause the external db not to load.

Which is why all the old mods work.

Which is why the added columns are unnecessary.

Therefore be not sad Mr. Clamel but glad. Ruination is not upon thee nor thine mods. Continue to modificate at will!

Not random pitch ratings are they but generated by the OOTP import process they are.

So essentially they will work but you have to make selections when importing that neglects the additions to the OOTPX database.

Or you can update the database to the OOTPX format and not have to worry about all that stuff.
