auto-expansion option

I'm starting a 1962 semi-historical dynasty, and I ran into a problem with whether or not to check the box to auto-expand. The text accompanying that box says that if checked it will also change ballparks when they changed historically and move franchises when they moved historically.

Neither of those appeal to me. I want the teams to play in the cities where I place them, and in the parks I create for them.

My question is, can I turn auto-expansion on after the 1968 World Series, then turn it off again before spring training in 1969? (Then do the same thing after the 1976 Series and before S.T. in 1977.)

If not, is there a way to get expansion without having franchises shifting around and opening new parks? I could simply do manual expansions, but then how could I get the incoming rookies to import to the expansion clubs?

Yes

Smile

Thank you, Bruce. A followup question: As long as no historical franchise shifts occur (or new parks open up) during these windows, should I expect teams to move around on me?

You should be fine.

I would recommend running a 1 or 2 year test sim though with what you want to do, just to be sure you're satisfied with the results.
