Random debut

Has there been any new development in random debut DBs in the last two years?

I have not played OOTP for nearly two years, but I just got the latest version. My favorite style of play is cross-era, and the random debut DBs from Arod-Garlon have done the job nicely for me in the past.

If anything has changed effecting this style of play in the last 2 years ...new DBs, changes in the way the game works, etc... would anyone care to bring me up to speed?

Also curious about this. Have been looking for Sandman's database creator but can't find it.

I've done several random db for my own use. If there is a preference toward one I could share. I don't have a "utility" which can be used as a product. I do each one manually (I tend to have unique parameters I will use).

Options
1) the Lahman, Gambo or Spritze DB?
2) Do you want them to span all seasons (e.g. 1871 - 2009), compressed into 100 years/80 years - this will also drive number of players arriving per year so that would be another way to look at it.
3) How many teams (I tend to have the initial pool set at 35 or 40 per team)?
4) Any start up constraints. (e.g. I tend to use PL, FL, UA players to fill out the initial roster.)

I do all the files so the db would support real-life or neutralized, recalc or normal development.

With my league, I have 12 teams(expanding every so often) with players set in the inaugural draft initially that would be outside of players coming in from the random debut. I then want to have 5 rounds worth of players for every amateur draft. Again though, that 5 rounds will be 60 players for the first couple years, and then more after every expansion. Preferably players starting from 1900 on. The league starts in 2009. Is this possible?

would need to know when expansion occurs and to what number of teams. I would use that and you 5 rounds of draft to set the annual pool.

How are the initial players determined?

Do you only want players who debuted 1900 and later or who played 1900 and later?

Other questions
1) Which database do you want to use (Game standard(Lahman), Gambo or Spritze).
2) Are you using a photo pack? I have a database set up for Lahman and Gambo (still working on Spritze) which alters the names in the database and the photos so they match (see this thread for an example of the issue Fix one players pic ) So do you want the modified names or the standard names?
