BZ 3120: "your licence is no longer valid"
After I restarted my computer, I got this message: "Your License is no longer valid. This is often caused by updating your system. Please re-enter your licence serial number."
Well, first I didn't update my system, but no big deal there. However, when I re-enter my serial number and hit the OK button, nothing happens. The msg. just sits there with my license # entered into it. If I hit the cancel button, it goes to DEMO mode. Ideas? PS - Mac version 10. My system is OS X 10.4.11 Last edited by bigMatt; 06-03-2009 at 05:03 PM. |

When I go to OOTP prefs, the game shows as "licensed." I had to unlicense and then re-license the game to get it to run again.
We'll see if I have the same problem next time I restart... |

try to unlicensing it and then entering the info manually. You need to be connected to the 'net to do so. Seems to have worked

This can be caused by changing USB configurations (I think). I'm no MAC expert but I remember seeing something like this during the beta but it was supposed to be fixed. Any change you guys unplugged, or plugged in a USB device you didn't have plugged/unplugged when you licensed? Also, just plugging a USB device into a different port would cause issues.

I'm having the same issue. I changed nothing on my system. I had to exit the game to work (same room, same everything) and when I re-opened it, this issue occurred.

I have a bug on this from the beta testing. I had only ever been reported on 1 Linux box and I was unable to repeat it. I would appear there is something more serious going on here. I will double my efforts to fix this.
In the meantime you have a work around, even if it is a tad fiddly at least you can play the game. |

I had this issue occur as well ... was upgrading from the beta version 10.0.6 to 10.0.7. I had to unlicense the game and relicense it (was able to relicense automatically).

I'm having the same problem. The work around works but is annoying. I am running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 .

Are any of the people with the problem on the mac Beta testers? If so please make yourself known as I might need to do some testing. |

Same problem
Just want to add my voice to the others . . . would really like to get this fixed. I too have not changed anything in my system (MacBook, latest OS) since I downloaded yesterday. I'm assuming the workaround is the un-licensing and re-licensing process, yes?

I also saw this issue with Leopard 10.5.7 (the latest release). Can't say whether the issue is limited to Leopard 10.5.7 or OOTP 10.0.7 (interesting how close those version #s are!!) but I did not see this issue with Leopard 10.5.6 when running OOTP 10.0.6.

"your licence is no longer valid"
I posted this earlier, and wanted to follow up but looks like my thread was deleted.
Every time I restart my Mac (OS X 10.4.11), it resets my license. I get an error msg. and request to re-enter my license. Once I do, and hit okay, the msg. just remains on my screen - won't go away until I cancel. When I hit the cancel button, the game acts as a demo. My current work around is to go to the Prefs, hit the Unlicense button, then relicense again. Once I do this, I can quit the program and relauch it with no problem. In fact, everything seems to work fine until the next time I restart my computer. |
