BZ 3156: AI Issues - Waivers & Free Agents

A couple of issues that I noticed that I hope can be addressed with the 1st patch:

Waivers
a) Players with extremely high potential being placed on waivers. I'm only into my 1st week of simulation with the OOTPX 2009 roster set. Ray Sadler was put on waivers. His batting ratings are 58-70-88 with potential of 77-93-117. I don't think there is any way TB would actually waive this guy. Another example is P Virgil Vasquez, who has potentials of 68-57-112. This was a big weakness in OOTP 9 as well.

Free Agents
a) Ben Sheets is a free agent. Injured obviously & out for an extended period of time. But, he's only asking for a minor league contract. No way would he sign today for a minor league contract, even though he's out for an extended period of time.

I'd appreciate some feedback on my input. How/where do I get this?

P Justin Mallett from the Cincinnati Reds organization is another example of a very high potential player put on waivers. His pitching ratings are 92-52-54 with potential of 128-65-77. No way would a guy like this be waived, IMO.

Getting the right balance on waivers has been a challenge and I believe it is still being worked on. Were those players claimed, by the way?

I'm running my sim as GM of the Twins. I had a .500 record during the 1st 2 weeks of the system and got all 3 of them on waivers. I'm not sure if other teams tried to claim, but my guess is not given my record.

Two more waiver examples of very high potential players:

C Curtis Thigpen - waived on 5/12/09 by Oakland - hitting ratings of 64-85-32, but potential of 88-115-45

3B Travis Metcalf - waived on 5/11/09 by Kansas City - hitting ratings of 65-86-57, but potential of 89-117-77
