BZ 3133: Mac OS X Crash Issues

I am using OS X 10.4.11 and the game has crashed during the following actions:
  • Clicking on the Arizona Diamondbacks from the "Teams" drop-down list. This problem, so far, solely seems to be with just the Diamondbacks
  • A few moments after changing colours/logos

Additionally, despite saving my games both automatically and manually, another issue has emerged. After each occasion in which the game crashes, when I return to my previously saved game, my profile is always erased in favour of "Garrett White" in commissioner mode. The game will not allow me to erase the Garrett White profile and all my previous game data is lost, except any changes to team logos/colours.

Try this as a solution to the crash problem:

Download another copy of the game. Replace your OOTP application (not the entire game) with a fresh OOTP application. You won't need to re-license. Restart the game and see how it goes.

I recommend that all Mac users keep a copy of the application handy for this purpose. I believe there is a portion of the application that is susceptible to being damaged. It may be awhile before the developers are able to focus on this possibility. However, if this works for you, it's a very easy way to fix things and get back on track.

If it doesn't fix it, then we have to look at something else.
