BZ 3326: Retired players and historical import

I'm trying out my first historical league using OOTP 10 and am having issues with it importing players as retired that should be playing. I'm starting in 1989 and guys like Mike Harkey and Jack McDowell are retired even though they had careers well past 1989. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

The Lahman db has holes in it as it is a major league only db. If a player had no major league experience during the league inaugural year they will be retired. The neutralized stats db fixes this issue.

I would 100 percent recommend using a neutralized database for many reasons. This being one of them. Dont worry the game will still give them the correct historical stats.

Alright, I'm a total noob... I'm selecting the historical_database.odb and then Neutralized Stats under the Base Ratings On... options but I'm still getting the retired players. Am I not doing this right? How do I use the neutralized stats?

Bigjim, I'm sorry we haven't been able to resolve your issue. I must admit that I'm hardly an expert on historical databases, and the two gentlemen above me are far more of an expert than I am. I'll try to see if I can get more information from them!

OK, we've verified that this is a problem.

I have logged this as BZ # 3326, and we'll get Markus to take a look at it. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a workaround at this time.

As a temporary workaround, if you are aware of which players are missing, you can manually import them from the Free Agents screen using the "Import Historical Player" option.

Thanks,

Steve
