BZ 3328: Ask AI for Strategy Bug

With coaches off I sometimes get a message saying no bench coach when I ask the AI for strategy.

If you are referring to the Team Strategy Page, I'm pretty sure the answer is that, with coaches turned off, there is no one to ask.

When you use the Ask Manager for Strategy or Ask Bench Coach for Strategy, you are basically asking the game to use that manager's/bench coach's strategy preferences (which are part of their individual profile) to set the sliders on that page. If you don't have a manager or bench coach, there is no one to ask. As a general rule, if coaches are turned off, all the sliders on all the team strategy pages will set to the middle (though I have seen some exceptions to this, for occur for unknown reasons).

I don't think you are correct. You should still be able to ask the AI with coaches off - the same way you can for setting pitching and lineups.

Thanks for your post, and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The first few weeks after the release are always pretty busy around here!

This is definitely a bug, and I have logged it as BZ 3328. We'll ask Markus to take a look.

In the short term, a possible workaround is to turn on coaching, hire a bench coach to that team, and then disable coaching again. However, you may not want to do that if it will mess with your finances. Certainly, I'd back up your league before playing around with it!
