BZ 3339: Linux - OOTPX hogs sound card

Even with all in-game sound disabled (as I'd prefer it to be), OOTPX hogs the sound card and refuses to let anything else use sound. I know sound in Linux is FUBAR, so I don't necessarily think that OOTPX should have a menu to choose from all manner of different sound architectures (which would be a lot of work for little payoff), but is there/can there be a command line option to tell OOTPX "no sound, please" so my other programs can access the sound card?

I also experienced this phemonenom, but only if I was not using the sound before I started up OOTP. If OOTP was running first, I could get anything out the sound card. But if I was playing tunes first, OOTP had no effect on the sound system when started up first.

What distro/version are you running?
