BZ 3431 Minor League Managers Not Managing Demotions/Promotions/DL
Referencing this original link in v9 with the same problem, although it appears I'm the only one perceiving it to this extreme:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-managers.html For Version X: I've finally created a BZ for this issue. With the settings pictured below, all you have to do is check the transaction logs every month for human-controlled teams and AI teams to see that - unless they're hidden from the transaction log - the human minor league managers are NOT promoting and demoting at all or at the same levels of activity; in my case, none at all. It's as if I have no managers OR the function simply doesn't work as I think it should or as it's intended to work. It's simply not happening. It requires I use the Ask AI or Ask Manager buttons to initiate changes. My BZ notes follow for BZ#3431 -------------------------------------------------- This is an issue I've come back to time and again. A pic of my settings is attached. There is literally no movement going on in my minor league teams (especially when you compare it to the movement going on in the AI teams),other than moves I personally make as GM. Is it possible the human-owned teams don't record these movements in the transaction logs? If so, that's a different problem, but still a problem. I haven't tracked the appearances in various players to see if that movement is, in fact, hidden. Bottom line. I find NO evidence that even though my settings say to delegate this task that it's being done. -------------------------------------------------- Changed the Summary to reflect the minor league manager's total absence, IMHO, when using these settings. They don't promote/demote. They don't put players on the DL. They don't fill holes in the roster. They 'tend' to play injured players instead of looking for replacements in leagues above or below, but not often. They don't manage their lineups. I have to physically get in and click the Ask Manager button to see changes occur if I move a player out by demotion, trade, etc... the lineup is slow, if ever, to change unless I make that click myself. Bottom line again. Minor league managers are not doing the tasks they're being asked to do - including DL'ing players - at their respective levels, IMO, not ANY of their tasks. --------------------------------------------------- The last note should have including pitching slots and rotations as well as lineup changes. I don't think I'm hallucinating. With these settings, it's as if either 1) I've actually fired every manager and don't know it, or I should fire them OR 2) The setting doesn't function as designed. 3)It's all hidden and magically done without me really knowing it. Color me concerned.

Updated the BZ late last evening as I ended up rushing (read that simming, which I rarely do in solo play) the season through to reach a logical breaking point, not unlike my own right now.
In any event, here's a partial of the BZ rant. It'd be great if someone has the time to double check a test league with these settings just to see if you're seeing what I'm seeing. I can't conceive that this is an issue for just my league; it seems it would have to be systemic, but let me know if you take a look. It's become a bit irritating. Sorry, and thanks in advance. My settings are pic'd in the post above.BZ Notes: This one is starting to bug me, I'll be honest. I've taken to going to the minor league lineups and pitching staff pages, watching days go by to see what happens. Nothing does. Well, nothing visible. If a player gets injured, they sit there. They don't play, but remain in the lineup box, although they remain used. You have to check the box score to see what's being done. If a player goes to the DL (which I have to put there, remember), the only way that player is coming off that DL, is if I once again take him off. Otherwise, the lineup slot just stays blank, the team plays somebody else, even though the minor league player is sitting in the DL area with time left None, injured time None. If I truly want the kind of movement I expect to "see", and I'm still not convinced even then that it's the movement that is supposed to occur, this is what I have to do: Every time I get a message with regard to a minor league player being injured, or ready to come off the DL, etc... which with the frequency I'm using is just about every day - I stop what I'm doing, go the Transaction Screen, select the Action button for Ask AI to Setup Complete Minor League System. I am pressing the darn button every day or every other day. Otherwise nothing is going to happen. Again, at least that I can see. Players play, but slots in the lineup, staff, remain open. I'm starting to think I should just let it play out and at the end of the month press the button and let my teams act like the AI and do everything then. If I have these settings to delegate to the minor league managers, then why am I even dealing with ANYTHING?
