Converting and old league to version 10... break the password?

I found an old file for an online league I was once in that has now faded away. I believe this file to be a version 6.5 but when I tried to convert it in v.9 (so I can convert to v.10) it says I need the password. Since I wasn't the commish I obviously don't know it... Is their anyway around this or to break the password?

Ok correction.. I realize now it is a version 5 league. So can I break that password somehow?

It's possible, the OOTP Developments staff can do it. But if it's not a league that you yourself ran and "owned," I don't think that they'll do it for you.

Someone will do it for you. But we generally try to keep the ability to do this kind of thing under wraps.

Well I'm trying to get in touch with the old commish but I'm not sure he visits this board anymore or if the email I have is still active... and that's assuming he can remember the old password!

If it was kept in OOTP5 like it was in OOTP6.x and IIRC it was, then I can do it for you.

If it's a long defunct online league then I don't see the harm, but it would be best to still get his permission. Is this guy your old commish?

Yeah that's the old commish. Still haven't heard from him though I only messaged him yesterday and emailed him last night.

I am quite amazed that the password I gave you didn't work...if it was a v5 copy of the league.

Yes, anyone feel free to crack the password. Just don't post it in public for identity theft reasons. No telling what else it might go to.

Yeah, it was nothing like what you gave him. Maybe it was from when someone else was commishing. I have no idea what it could have stood for.

Not that impressive, actually. He was just reminiscing about the league in another thread a day or two before he started this thead. Even so I may have remembered him being in the Laseron since I used to check it out every once in awhile (I was a fan).
