Why aren't there any leagues where owners play out their games...

I've been in a diamond mind baseball league for years and we play out our home games. How come there are not any leagues like that for OOTP?

Its supply and demand.. and with online leagues of course, its about a person willing to Admin the league to set up a league like this.

Alot of online guys are old vets set in thier ways, although I think if you lobbied you might find guys who like it the way you do.. (sounds dirty eh?)

Whats great about OOTP is the customizability, you can easily set this up, you just need to build it... hten, apprently, so I have read.. they will come!

We have been toying with the idea of selecting a game of the week to be broadcast live. Each GM / Manager would have the option to manage his/her team during the broadcast.

Unfortunately, the idea when presented to the league, was not well received and has not been implemented as of yet.

I love the idea of playing out some of the games live as it would help to bring the league and players to life. I think a lot of the guys within the community simply don't have as much free time as I do which is perfectly fine.

From time to time, eMLB has a live, head to head game broadcast on Yuuguu.

It takes about 2 hours for a game.

I could see playoffs and the all-star game but to do it for a whole season might be kinda hard. Im not sure if every owner would be able to commit the time. As well as playing in online leagues im sure they have their own solo leagues. Dont know if people would have the time to play out 162 games.

live sims

3 or 4 out of 14 were interested in my league but I didn't implement because of lack of interest too. I have an account all set up so if interest grows- I can easily sim a live game here and there live.

Heres an idea. Maybe you have league where there are only a few games, more like a tournament?

Each team plays everyone else twice (one home and one away) so if you have 11 teams you have a 20 game schedule.

This way it might attract more people who are willing to try it on what is a small commitment. Maybe after a few seasosn youd have enough people willing to take the plunge for more games.

I don't know many people who would be willing to only have a 20 game schedule. Especially in baseball, that's not enough time to do what you want for a season.

That's correct. The broadcasts are done through yugma.com. Owners of the two championship teams can call plays during the game. A game usually takes about an hour to complete.

It's great fun when it all comes together. Being honest, though, it can be a little tough to organize. You're dealing with human nature here, and the fact is that the majority of people out there aren't going to display interest in watching a game that doesn't involve their own team. Fortunately we've usually had enough owners who buck this trend to make broadcasts worthwhile. If you're thinking of doing this, my advice would be to start selling the idea to your owners as far in advance as possible, and be realistic about the kind of turnout to expect.
