League File Troubles

I wasn't sure where to post this........

I am having file issues with one of my online leagues and I have no idea what is wrong. When I try to download the file within the game I get this message first:

HTTP_CONNECTION::load_file-connection to server Big League Sports Net - BLSN timed out

The next message says:

Error : could not load file http://www.bigleaguesports.net/blfb/exp ... .lg.tar.tz

Does anyone have suggestions? I am in two leagues and have no issues with the other league.

Do you connect to the internet from behind a proxy or in any way have to use a proxy to browse web pages?

I am guessing not based on your note that you say you have two other leagues that are working ok for you. Do you know if those two leagues also have the file download via HTTP, or do those leagues have managers download via FTP?

The first suggestion I would give to troubleshooting this is to do the following:

1) Within OOTPX, go to Game -> FTP Options and copy the URL listed there for Game File Location (use CTL-C to copy it, don't just manually write that address down)

2) Open a Web Browser and paste that URL into the web browser. (You should be able to use CTL-V to paste it into the address bar)

Are you able to download the file that way correctly, or does it time out as well? It is possible that you have a typo in the URL for the game file (which is why I ask for you to cut and paste the URL and not just hand type it in.

My typo was here-not in the game. Here is the URL listed in game:

http://www.bigleaguesports.net/blfb/...BLFB.lg.tar.gz

I am told that I am the only one having issues. I do have a brand new comp with new virus protection (Kaspersky). I am wondering if my computer is blocking something. Again, I am having no trouble with my other leagues.

Can you screenshot the error message and also screenshot your FTP Options screen for me to look at? You can PM them to me instead of posting here if you don't want everyone in the world to see your league's file download information.

I think I found the problem. The box "use FTP to download league file" was not checked. I put a check in it. I am hoping that will work.

If your league uses FTP to download, the commissioner should be able to push out a file that auto-sets that for all managers. When you check that box, do you have information listed for the FTP server/account/etc? If that is all blank, then I am guessing this will not fix your issue.
