How Do Online Leagues Work?

Could someone explain to me how an online league works ? I was once in a Baseball Mogul league I never finished the season because the guys on there did not like "newbies" for some reason and treated me like well I cannot write the word on here. Thanks in advance.

I just moved this post of yours from the sticky. Are you still looking for an answer to your question? If so, I'm sure this has been answered a number of times before either here or on the New To The Game board. Or someone can chime in with another answer here. I'd just like to make sure you have what you need.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience with that league. I'm sure there are some OOTP leagues like that, too, but there are also a large number of leagues that are more than happy to take on newbies and help them get up to speed on the game. All of us started out that way at some point.

I'll echo that sentiment. Speaking for the PEBA, we have absolutely no qualms about taking on owners who are new to online leagues and even OOTP itself. In fact, some of our most involved and successful owners had never played a game of OOTP in their lives prior to joining the league.

What I would say to you is don't get discouraged, and don't take a league turning you down for lack of experience as an indictment of you. In reality, it's an indictment of the Commissioner. Show me a Commissioner who doesn't have the time to show a newcomer the ropes and I'll show you a league that probably isn't long for this world.

I cant see an ootp online leagues doing the same thing. Im just guessing but i would think most of them would like to keep the owners that are in good standing with their leagues. Plus im sure Commissioners put too much effort into online leagues to just drive newbies away.
