Greatest Starter Ever in an Online League
This starter is currently owned by the commish in my league iMLB. He did not make any edits to the guy at all. This is a league that started in 2009 and is in 2010. The weird name is because we have renaming of two draft picks every year.
Player Report for #9 Ben Roethlisberger He started out without a fastball and also was a 10-9-8 I believe at first. Strasburg went 1, Ackley 2, and a CF named Brimble who looks like a true 5 tool stud went 3rd. At 5th I picked a guy who looks like Rickey Henderson 2.0 minus the power who has now been traded as part of a package for Kuo and Ervin Santana. Just figured I'd post this since our whole league is in shock. |

I have a guy who can meet or top all of them: Chicago White Sox pitcher Leonard Ollis.

How could you possibly compare a pitcher that is incapable of suffering an injury to one in a league that does? The ability to take the field is a key component of sporting events. Leonardo Ollis can get injured, he happens to injured for this entire season. Ollis is #1.

I was purely referring to the ratings for a starter. He picked up a 3rd pitch (the fastball) after the draft and had a good increase. He had impressive potential out of the draft, but lacked the 3rd pitch.
The ONLY edits made were the re-naming of draft picks to keep the league interesting. There have been some other guys that have developed quickly too, and others that have flamed out. The fact the guy had this development in a modern game pretty much stock out of box is impressive. |

Using the 10 point scale, I've never seen ratings jump by more than 2 points in OOTP X. Player development is pretty realistic. Now, if you go into the Player Editor and change a pitch with all 0's to 160 (which I believe is the equivalent of an 8), the Stuff rating will indeed skyrocket.

1. 2.05 lifetime ERA. 2. 9.29K/IP 3. 8.08 K/BB 4. only 135 wins so far, but in 120-game seasons over 10 seasons on a mediocre team, age 32. .707 win%. 8. 9 league pitcher of the year awards (but there are only 4 teams per "league", so that's not that big a deal). 2 hierarchy-wide (72-88 teams) pitcher of the year awards (2012,2014). Yeah, Ollis is still better than that.

I've seen a couple guys have pretty fast ratings increases in OOTP X, but I'd say it really only happened with good coaches. Maybe that was coincidental, maybe it wasn't, but the ratings jump on this guy may be on the up-and-up.
How he throws 100mph and didn't have a fastball baffles me, though. ROIDS!! |
