Allowing human to manage?

Okay, when I click on either FINISH TODAY or AUTOPLAY TODAY, it, well, finishes or autoplays the entire day. I (think) I am set up to manage the Red Sox and was hoping it would pause to allow me to in-game manage. I must be missing something here - some checkbox to get the game to stop simming so you can manage your chosen team.

Find your game on the schedule screen, and there should be "Manage" and "Quick Play" (the others will say "Watch" instead of "Manage"). Click on "Manage", and you're in.

If you FINISH or AUTOPLAY, the game takes that as if you had hit "Quick Play" so you can quickly skip ahead if you choose to.

So, I have to play my game FIRST if I want to manage it, then select FINISH DAY or whatnot to quicksim all the others at once, correct?
