Minor League Coachs contracts ran out!
I'm confused. I'm playing with about 5 minor league teams in each organization. I just got a message saying that my Rookie Ball coaches left as they were not resigned. I assume that this is my responsibility as a GM... However, I can't seem to do this. I switch leagues, but I'm not able to hire anyone???

Yep, that'll happen. To resign your coaches, go to the Personnel screen, and choose your minor league team from the 'affiliated teams' button on the bottom right. Right-click (Ctrl-click on Mac) on each coach to offer an extension.
If you need to hire a new coach, go to the Manager menu --> Staff Search and Shortlist; from there, search for the coach you need. Good coaches can get good jobs (i.e. in the majors or AAA), so you'll probably end up hiring someone with mediocre ratings for a rookie level team. Good luck! |

Thanks - duh! All makes sense now.
However, one more question. I have a seemingly better scout in single A that I'd like to promote. I fired my double A scout and when I went to appoint the single A scout, it only allowed me to to offer him personnel positions with my ML team or the current team he was in... I'm afraid to fire the scout and then not be able to rehire him, but I assume this is the only other way to do it, no? Thanks in advance! |

No, you don't have to fire him (besides, he may not want to work for you again
).You can play a bit of musical chairs with him and some other scouts in your organization. The two things to remember are that minor league scouts can only be reassigned to the parent club, and every time you move a scout up or down, unless the position that he is going to is open, the other scout will trade places with him. So, you do some trading of places designed to ultimately get each scout in the slot that you want him. You have to figure out how to do this, but the single A scout has to be temporarily at the major league level for you to reassign him to double A. |

Thanks again for the help. I'll play around with it as I think I understand what you mean... lots of promoting and demoting to get it all correct.
Too bad there is not a single page for your personnel like there is for the minor league players to make these kinds of moves... oh well, no sweat. |
