Ballpark pictures reverting in off-season
I am running a historical league and using ballpark pictures. In the off-season, some of my ballpark pictures (for day pictures only) reverted to default_grass.jpg. Why is this happening?

Sounds like you lost your parks.dat file somehow. Look for it in your My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\saved_games\[name of your league].lg folder. If it's missing (or if it's corrupted, another possibility) look to see if you can copy the same file in from a back up that you made recently. You have backed up recently, right?

That worked, but teams who had moved into new parks no longer have that park available. For example NY Highlanders had moved from Oriole Park to Hilltop Park, but now back to Oriole Park. Do I have to manually add the newer park, or can I re-import it?

Are you using Lahman's? I'm not familiar with historical play, but I looked into teams.csv that comes with their database, and I see that move of the Highlanders to Hilltop Park in 1903, I believe. My guess is that you copied in a version of parks.dat that you saved before that year, and you are now playing in a year after that.
Unless you have a more recent (but still prior to the trouble that you ran into) version of parks.dat to use, I would guess that you would be safer to make the few remaining changes manually rather than risking re-importing the database as I am unsure what else that would change. Let's see if somebody more familiar with this will come by and add some advice. |

Yes, I'm using the Lahman database. I'm really more concerned with preventing the ballpark edits from going back to defaults every off-season than I am with fixing it this one time.

Im pretty sure that ballaprks will default back to the original setting after each season. There have been a few people who have been asking for this to be changed in the next patch so that it sticks with whats in there instead of changing back. I for one would love to see this changed (if this is in fact still the case)
I think it is Gambo that has a spreadsheet that has park factors for each year or something like that. You have to manually change them every season though (because they go back to the original)

Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you.
