Newbie Qs about news and quick scouts

I have been playing only a few days and am still figuring things out.

I have done 5 quick scouts, 2 days ago, and never get a news message.

Shouldn't I get one for every quick scout?

I also got 2 players off waivers and never got a message saying so.

If I go to the transaction log, I see something saying that I got the players. But it would be wasier to see it in the news.

Am I doing something wrong?

Quickscouts are instantaneous; you should see the scout's new perception of the player's ratings show up immediately. Quickscouts are less reliable than normal scouts, which can take a couple of days- for these you get a news message.

When you claim someone on waivers and your claim is successful, you should definitely get a message, so I don't know what happened there. If another team with waiver priority also claims the player, then you wouldn't get a message (or the player).

When I claimed a guy off waivers I do indeed get a message saying that I got the player.

This does not seem right.

I thought waivers are decided at the end of the day and the worst team making a claim gets the player??

Waivers normally take three days, unless you changed the default. You must have been the worst, or more likely only, team who claimed the player.
