My DH can't change to the field during game!?!

Is this a rule?

I have a 3B at DH and in the middle of a game I made a substitution assuming that I'd be able to put the DH at 3B. But the only option under position is DH.

What gives?

In real life, at least in MLB rules (lots of variety in other real leagues), you can put your DH in the field, but then you lose the DH- your pitcher must bat in that spot. Unfortunately, that's not implemented in OOTP, so your DH is your DH. There have been requests for this to be changed, so maybe in the future...

Yeah, that needs to be added and it needs to be a configurable setting. There are different rules in different leagues, the MLB is just one rule setting negating the DH for a batting pitcher. Other leagues in the world in real life can allow you to put a DH in the field and name a new DH. So the leauge should have a setting for this.

Agreed. I brought this up a bit ago. . . really does need to be changed.

Hell, I think we should just BAN the DH in OOTP. Make it easier. Make the damn pitcher hit.......

Well, seeing as you can turn of the DH, I don't see where the problem is.

…and I'd like to bat my pitchers and DH for my shortstop. We all got worries…
