MAC vs. PC
I'm going to purchase the software this weekend, but I have both a MAC and a PC and I'm unsure which version I am going to buy.
Any reasons for purchasing the PC version instead of the MAC version? I'd prefer to purchase the MAC version but I don't want to do so if people have had trouble integrating available "real" player DB's that are not compatible for the MAC. Thanks! |

The Lahman database (for any season historical imports) works brilliantly on Mac, and the upcoming 2007 roster sets will just be saved game files, so should be no problem. The one difference, and as a Mac user I have no idea what I'm missing, is that many (all?) of the custom mods are PC only- utilities that let you export league files, mass edit and reimport, draft utilities, etc. I'm out of my depth on this, so maybe someone else can fill you in. In any case, there are a lot of happy Mac users around these parts. myself included.
As for sim speed, you might want to skim over recent posts in Tech Support before purchase; I noticed one Vista-related thread, and also one MacBook Pro thread, OS 10.4.8 [maybe?], both mentioning speed-related issues. |

I can think of one reason why the PC would be the way to go if you have the choice:
Utilities. There are already third-party tools written to augment the game that are only for Windows - redsoxford's Stadium Importer, for example. |
