NO FA pitchers???

I have been baffled in my first few attempts to be a GM with the everpressing, what the heck do I do next? question.

So, I resorted to basics and made a 16 team league, with no minors--the back to basics template.

I simmed one season, then tinkered with team nicknames and logos while examining the previous year's results. I applied for one of the 4 vacant jobs and set my scouts to work, and made one trade for a proven shortstop, giving up a 1 star old 2B and an 18 yo 1B my scouts didn't think much of.

I then let things run until the free agent filing deadline. And found NOT ONE FREE AGENT PITCHER!!!

Is it typical that every pitcher in the league would have been locked up for at least 2 years to start out? Should I have simmed a little deeper to get more history as well as some more variability among contracts? It doesn't look like there were an OFs or Cs either, now that I looked again.

Seems to be a bug or minor issue, "SHOW ALL PLAYERS" shows no pitchers either.

I sound like the swimming pool repairman, but make sure your filters are cleared. Just a guess.
