If you've unzipped the file, you should have a folder which ends in .lg. If that's in your saved games folder, when you launch OOTP, choose 'Load Saved Game' from the Game menu, and you should see the roster there. Then you're ready to go.
Edit- if you haven't unzipped the file, you should have an unzipper on your machine already- double clicking on the file ought to do the trick. I'm not on Windows, so hopefully someone else can help if you have trouble. Last edited by injury log; 06-29-2007 at 08:25 AM. |

On a side note, what do you do with templates? I downloaded Sky Dog's template and it ended with a ".wpt" extension. I assumed it would go in the "Templates" folder. Did that and tried to load it, but it didn't show up. I saw that every other file in the "Templates" folder ended in ".tpl". So I changed it to that extension. Still nothing. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Edit: Dim recollection from experience - if you don't see that folder, make one called "world_templates" within the My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data folder and store Sky Dog's template in there. Last edited by 1998 Yankees; 06-29-2007 at 10:50 AM. |

Use new game and cancel the league creation wizard. Choose template in the other screen, choose world template and loaad the one you want to use. Normally all will be ok.

1998 and AESP - Thanks for the replies. I guess I should have mentioned that I am on a Mac. I did find Users\Tom\Library\Preferences\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data. I put the file in the "world_templates" folder in there. No luck. I then placed the "world_templates" folder in the "data" folder in the main OOTP data folder. Still no joy. Anyone on a Mac that uses templates?

I'm on Mac, and my templates are stored in:
Applications --> OOTP2007 --> data --> world_templates It sounds like you've tried that already... so I don't know what's going on. In any case, mine work fine; perhaps you'll have better luck if you try again. I assume you're restarting the game each time (although that probably shouldn't make a difference). |

total control of all teams
I would like to know how i can handle transactions and trades for all 2007 roster teams, and still have the other AI managers detrmine lineups and such.....but it seems i can only be the gm of one team. So is it possible for me to handle all trades and transactions for all teams? and keep the AI controlling the lineups and game situations?

I have never done this, but I think this will get you the result you want:
-in the Game Setup menu, under League Functions, you can choose to Prevent AI from making roster moves (I don't have the game open, so I don't recall the exact wording). With this enabled, I expect the AI will set all lineups and rotations, but won't trade, sign players, or demote or promote players to the ML team. In Commissioner mode, you can force whichever transactions you want, so you can control roster moves that way. |

Injury Log, thanks for the input. I did create the folder and placed the file in there. Still no luck. I don't really want to try a reinstall at this time, but will keep this in mind when I decide to do so. Thanks.

Tom- one other suggestion; perhaps you've already tried this. Erase any folders you've specifically created for templates (but not their contents, of course!). Take any league you've got (or start a new one), and save the league setup as a template. This should guarantee the game creates a folder in the right location, with the right name, containing the new template. Drop your .wpt file in there and see if the game recognizes it.
