How do you set cash to 'no minimum'?
Quote:
In the financial settings, to set cash to 'no minimum', do I just blank it out, or set it to zero? Thanks in advance. |

Unless I'm misunderstanding the quote, I think the poster meant to say 'no cash maximum', meaning teams can hold onto as much cash as they want. In any case, I'd probably set the cash max to a number no team could realistically reach. I don't know what happens if this is set to 0; knowing how OOTP works with other fields, this might give you the result you want, or it might give you the exact opposite of the result you want- it may make it that no team can keep any cash at all. Hopefully someone else can clarify this.

Lowering ticket prices can make sense, for a team with low fan interest; it might be the only way to get a lot of fans to the park, and could raise revenue overall. It will not, of course, be a good idea in your scenario, as you point out.

Don't set the Cash Maximum to zero. That means that all cash left over at the end of the season will vanish. In that same column there should be a checkbox for 'will you use a cash maximum?' Select it in such a way that the cash max line is ghosted out.

Thanks. Yes with the Cubs' fan base, I don't think lowering ticket prices is necessary. In fact, the game just has their market as 'average', and with their following around the country, and the number of people who buy Cubs merchandise around the country and also take vacation trips there to go to Wrigley Field, I'd say the market should be 'astronomical'.

Market size in the game isn't set based on population, wealth or anything else you might think of. It's based on being large enough that that team can pay for the group of players it starts the game with. In 2007 a couple of teams may start slightly in the red, but most will be making a small profit from the beginning.
Many historical and historical/fantasy players edit the market sizes to more closely reflect their own version of reality. In my historical/fantasy I set the Cubs to 8 and the White Sox to 7, with no one being higher than 10.

I just set my cash maximum to $999,999,999. Of course, I've never played long enough to come close to that in OOTP'07 yet as I keep restarting leagues.
