Historical League Newbie Question
I just ordered the game and am playing the 1903 season. As a historical player, I'm loving the game and the level of statistical detail is fantastic.
I do have one question that should be easy to answer for a longtime gamer: How do you make certain that real-life rookes are imported to their actual teams? In other words, I'd rather adhere to historical accuracy by having rookies start off with the teams that signed them, rather than going into a special draft where any team can grab them. I have the box checked in my league setup to "automatically import historical rookies." But I can't tell if those rookies will go to their original teams or into a draft. Do I have to do something else to import them the way I want to?? Thanks in advance. jprywell |

You should be able to deselect the amateur draft or select a specific box that will say 'import rookies to original team' or something along those lines.

Kelric's right; if you disable the amateur draft, the rookies will go to their original teams, on the first day of the Preseason. There's text to that effect in the Game Setup menu, where the 'Auto-Import Historical Rookies' checkbox is found, which says something along the lines of 'Disable Amateur Draft to assign rookies to original teams', in case you want some reassurance.

Rookie Draft
Thanks for the help. I saw those instruction. But I can't figure out what I'm supposd to do to disable the draft. It looks to give a file path in blue. Do I just click on that and it disables it -- or is there any place to uncheck a box??
Sorry to remain confused. But I'm managing th 1903 TIgers and don't want the Georgia Peach to show up on another team in a couple of years. jprywell |

In any case, there is a checkbox to turn the draft on or off. Go to Game menu --> Game Setup --> League Setup --> Rules. Near the bottom, on the right-hand pane, you'll find the draft options. You should uncheck the 'Enable Amateur Draft' box. There may be times during the season when this box is grayed out. |

Draft
You hit the problem on the head, injury log. The message to enable the draft was grayed out, and I didn't see it (I'm in the middle of a season).
I'll uncheck it once the season is over. That should do it. Thanks. jprywell |
