Play by Play Q
What do the letters after a play mean, for example (9LSF)(6M), etc. mean?
Also when assigning/modifying stadiums, do I have to set each stadium to be in a city or does it assign the city from the team the stadium is assigned to?

1. Try this thread: explanation please
2. City assignment and stadium selection are independent of each other. |

So if I'm using a stadium for Las Vegas, I don't have to go into the stadium settings and apply Vegas to that stadium, do I. For weather conditions, wouldn't it use weather from Vegas as opposed to weather from whatever "default" city that stadium was assigned to?

Let's use Las Vegas as an example. It's definitely in the cities database and I checked that it is also in the weather database.
Now, when you go to select city location, you type in "Las Vegas" in the City Search box, hit enter, and then select Las Vegas, Nevada using the Select Exact City pull down. The fact that Las Vegas is in both databases means the weather should already be updated for you when you click Edit Ballpark and the Weather tab. If not, you should be able to select it from the list on the right, and you would see these values inserted: 206,Las Vegas,Nevada,9,47,52,58,66,75,86,91,89,81,69,55,47 ,1,1,1,1,0,0,0,1,1,1,1,1, These are wind speed, 12 average months temperature and rainfall (dry!). Now, you are going to see that the ballpark is generic, waiting for you to edit it in terms of name, dimensions, ballpark factors, etc. All of these are independent of city location. As a matter of fact, if you had an edited Yankee Stadium loaded in your ballparks file, you could select that if you want. Las Vegas has replicas of other famous landmarks, after all.

Ok so by "applying" a ballpark to Las Vegas, it will pull in weather elements for Las Vegas into that stadium...I don't have to go tell the stadium where to look...Is this correct?

I think you got it, littlechris.
We're down to just a matter of words, I think. Let me rephrase once more, just in case there is still any confusion. What you are actually doing on the Options & Ballpark page is "applying" the team to a location in the cities database, in this case Las Vegas. If that location is also in the weather database, the weather will be inserted for you.* Neither location nor weather depends on the stadium. The ballpark itself determines nothing except the outcome of gameplay based on ballpark factors and stadium dimensions. Now, if you pick a city that does not appear in the weather database, you may notice generic weather settings. I believe I recreated those below. Try searching for your city on the right side of the weather screen and if you don't find it, look for a nearby city with similar weather. *Actually, I will amend that a bit. If you are changing the location from what you orginally started the game with for this team, the weather does not automatically update. To do so, you need to click the Re-Import Weather Database button; that will automatically insert the correct weather for you. Of course, you can always select it manually from the list as well.
