Deleting League - Keeping History....
Not really a newbie but I have a question on history of defunct leagues.
Say I have a league that lasts 40 years but I want the league to disband. I want all the players to then be available to the other leagues in my universe. The question I have is if I delete the league will I still have the league history? I don't want to lose the history, I just want some of the players that are able to go to a higher league and some join lower level leagues. I probably could just test this but I am hoping that someone has done this with no problems.... Regards, Sandman |

Potential work around and I have no idea if it'd work - release all of the players into the FA pool, then drop that league down to the lowest level of talent and generate a bunch of scrubs for it. Shut off FAs and trades and all of that in that league.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. Would it be possible to delete the schedule for that league for future seasons? If they don't play they won't generate any additional history.
Back everything up before trying that, though. You wouldn't want your world to crash due to not playing unscheduled games. Another thought that occured to me was also in conjunction with Kelric's idea: Try deleting all but one (or two) teams from the league after you release the players to free agency and before you generate new scrubs. Again, you'll want to backup first.

I'm not sure if deleting the schedule would cause a crash or not. I would think the game might not let you advance if a league doesn't have any games to play.
And I would think deleting teams would delete their history as well, though it wouldn't affect any archived seasons you have. But I don't archive my seasons, I jusy rely on the overall league history pages.

Actually, I just did this in one of my leagues, and it keeps the complete history of the deleted league and all the teams. Same goes if you just delete one team at a time...if you go to the teams page, it puts them down at the bottom with (inactive) next to them.
