Is it possible to edit league history?

Hey all, this is my first post...I've been playing the game since Season Ticket Baseball back in 2002, and reading the boards since then, but I just never registered until today. It has only been with the latest version of the game that I've really immersed myself in it, editing team logos, uniforms, etc. and I've finally run into a snag that I can't figure out how to fix.

I'm basically recreating baseball history from 1871-present, and when I went to create the American Association in 1882, I made a mistake, so I deleted a "fictional league" and re-did it. Now, when I look in my history, the fictional league shows up as 1882-1882, which just annoys me. Is there any way to edit the league history so that this league no longer shows up? I've gone into the news/history/index file and edited it, but it still shows up in the game. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
