Compensation, and Scouting questions .....
As far as compensation, how do you know what the compensation will be? Is there some form of way of being able to tell what round it will cost you, if any pick at all? I haven't been able to find any.
As far as scouting, I've tried several ways to implement my scouts task lists to maximize the players covered so when I'm offered trades, I don't have to quick scout them all the time or what not. Any ways you guys set your scouts up, I'd like to hear it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! -- Steve -- |

As for the compensation question, if you open a free agent's Profile, click on the 'Contract + Status' tab, you'll find his compensation status in the bottom right corner (scroll down). Type A- 1st rnd pick; Type B- 2nd rnd pick. Note that FA compensation has never worked properly in OOTP- for example, if a team in the bottom half of the standings signs a Type A free agent, in real life they'd normally lose a second rounder, because the first half of the first round is always immune from compensation, but this doesn't happen in OOTP- the team won't lose any pick at all. OOTP also doesn't have a sandwich round, among other issues. Still, it does 'sort of' work, and I still use it, even if it does mean sometimes I can sign free agents with impunity, and sometimes I lose free agents and get nothing in return. I know that some people turn it off completely, because they don't find the implementation satisfactory. Last edited by injury log; 08-09-2007 at 05:52 PM. |
