Ballpark Question

Sorry, I know I just posted a question about a manager and should have included this in one thread, again sorry. I actually have several questions that I'm writing down and am going to do searches on the boards and the manual but I did just remember one that was really bothering me. Sort of two. All ballparks hold 42,000 people. I notice they have different factors, but all holding the same capacity. Is that intentional, a bug, something I did wrong?? And do cities have an affect on the game? I thought I read in the manual that city size affects media revenue, so I'm wondering do the cities grow?? I.E. will Washington in 1901 be basically the same as Washington in 2001??

Sorry for two separate posts, and again thanks for any replies.

You don't say whether this is a fictional league or one that was created using a template or quick-start, so I cannot comment fully. However, I can say that with a new fictional league, there is variability in all this, including stadium capacities. I don't see all my stadiums with the same amount of seats, no. However, the mod designer may have set them up this way.

Cities, again in a fictional setting (I'm not up on roster mods and such), really don't have a direct effect on anything. If you read some threads, you will find that the game sets up financials right after stocking the teams with players (be that from day one or with an inaugural draft), then it creates contracts to match their talents and team financials to match the resulting payrolls. One of those factors affected is market size, and you could end up with Kansas City as "huge" and New York as "tiny" depending on their inaugural teams, which is disconcerting until you realize that the game designers are forcing this for game play balance. However, again, the mod designer may have changed these settings for some reason.

All of this is customizable if you are commissioner, but if you downloaded somebody's mod, you probably should leave things alone. More details are in the manual, by the way.

I just created a historical league in 1969, using Lahman database. No templates or anything. And OK, I'll check the manual more deeply. Did finally print the whole thing. (Haven't read the whole thing) It's like 7 inches of paper . Had to though, I just wasn't focused on-screen for some reason.
