is OOTP8 the latest OOTP?

i haven't played ootp since 5. it was a great game. loved it. but then guild wars took my attention away 3 years.
i'd like to pick up ootp where i left off. is 8 the latest? or theres gonna be a 9 coming in the next few months?

the overwhelming majority suggests that you buy OOTP8 now. Any league that you create with 8 will be compatible with 9. I just made the jump from OOTP5 a few months ago (as a christmas gift to myself) 8 rocks, and you don't need to upgrade to 9 right when it comes out.

ah.. so there is a new oopt9 coming out...that's the thing.. i don't know if i want to spend $30 for 8 when 9 is just arond the corner..

yeah, itll be out "well before the all-star break"
the lead developer, Markus, was around the boards a little bit ago and posted some of the new features, the thread may be buried by now.

did some search on ootp9 talks... sounds like its gonna be a good one.

played ootp8 demo for a couple days now.. it's a good enough game to keep me busy for a few months. so ootp8 it is. hopefully it'll keep me busy enough till gw2 comes out.

Well the game is only $19.99 now, and is a good investment if you enjoy sim baseball.
