Smile Scheduling

I am new to the game, thats why I came to this thread I noticed that the schedule the game generates is kind of crappy. Can I make my own? Or downloading from a template would be much easier.

Plus for some reason i can't get interleague play no matter what I do. Perhaps it is the set up of my league.

I have 32 teams (2 leagues - 16 each)
(3 divisions of 5, 5, 6)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also one other question.... what is the best mode for detailed play by play and how do I get to it? I love to see the games being played out and am tinkering with managing them. Opinions?? Gracias.

I'll answer one question now and maybe address the rest later, or perhaps somebody else will come along to answer them.

Yes, you can edit the schedule in the offseason by using the game's built-in schedule editor. Go to Game, Game Setup, League Setup, Edit League Schedule. Also, you might want to try SandMan's Schedules Pack at this website: Databases

As for interleague play, you need to enable that under game > league setup (then it's under Rules, IIRC).

That reminded me of something. I'm still at work (Curses, be damned with this fluff stuff that separates me from my OOTP! ), but I do have my file backups with me, and these are some notes that I compiled from posts that I have read here:

Quote:
The game's schedule generator is not capable of dealing with interleague play, nor is it capable of dealing with unbalanced schedules. However, the game comes with several schedule "templates" that have these built in.

Therefore, if you check the box for interleague play, let's say, and your league's structure happens to match up with a template that has interleague play, you get interleague play. Otherwise, you don't.

There are custom schedules created by members and uploaded to OOTP modifications web sites. One set in particular has over 300 schedules for various numbers subleagues, division, and teams and with varying options for interleague and balanced schedule formats.
The first two paragraphs explain why interleague may not work even if it is selected as Kelric mentioned, and the third paragraph alludes to what I was talking about earlier.

This is probably the optimal array of PbP settings to maximize the play by play experience. These settings can be found in the Options & Preview tab before starting the game, or in the Options tab during the game.
