I have played many sports games and even have an older version of OOTP lying around somewhere.
I like the idea of starting as a minor league manager and improving a team. I have a couple questions, first, how can I print out a player's statistics so that I can look at a number of player's side-by-side? I can't find anything in the menu that allows me to print out the team's player ratings. Second, I notice that I am starting with a fair number of players, but not enough to field a team for a season. I also notice that every player shows as unhappy or worse. I wasn't sure how to begin so I started in about 1977. If I can start the season and keep it going as I have read of others having trouble, I wonder if the organization will promote me if I do well?

here's a basic way to print your roster.

1) click roster
2) click view
3) click batting ratings
4) at the bottom click report
5) click write report to disk
6) you can now print or paste into excel

you can do this from various screens throughout the game

1. Does your league have ghost players enabled? Look in League Setup, Options, Player Options for the checkbox that says "Allow incomplete minor league rosters (ghost players)". If you're going to manage a minor league team, I'd think that needs to be unchecked, to require a full minor league roster's worth of players.

2. I haven't played as a minor league manager in OOTP 9 yet, but in OOTP 8, you could be promoted through the organization. I think I made it as far as AAA before I moved on to playing a different league.

I checked on the ghost player issue and I don't have that option selected. I started another game and got a completely different set of players. I found the reports you mentioned, but still cannot see the ratings for the players unless I go into the individual screens. I downloaded the new patch and still have a number of players that do not have position ratings. I would like to fix this, but I am not in commissioner mode. Even if I was, how would I get position ratings put in for them?
