Scouting question
I am trying to work with this new scouting system and am having issues with it.
My scouting director is great, with 90-100 in the scouting categories.(100 at major league level) The default % set for major league scouting is set at 40%, still in first season so can not change it yet. I have a player deemed by him to have avg numbers, mid 50's or less(out of 100). This is a far cry from pre-2009 ratings. So i turn off scouting and OSA rates him at 5 star 88+ numbers. Is scouting this unpredictable? that you have to have 90% in major league to even have a clue as to how good a player is? Leaving almost nothing for the rest of your scouting budget. |

That's a tough one to answer, as there could be quite a few answers. The only thing I want to say definitely is to suggest that you check a bunch of other players rated by this scout in the same way and see whether it's a pattern or an isolated event.
Heck, I will say something else: scouting has always been an inexact science - even the best scouts can make mistakes and this is reflected in the game. See how widespread it is with this guy; that will give you a clue whether it's money to blame. If he's consistently falling down, up the budget accordingly and test him again. |
